Getting here from Northcote
About fifteen minutes by car heading west along Brunswick Road or Moreland Road. By public transport, tram route 86 runs the length of High Street and connects toward the city, with the 19 and 58 running across to Brunswick West, the 58 stops at stop 35, on the corner of Victoria Street.
What Northcote patients come in with
Cycling. The Merri Creek trail is the spine of commuter cycling in the inner north, and riding produces a distinctive load through the neck and upper back, sustained extension with the shoulders forward, which surfaces as neck pain and headache patterns more often than as back pain.
Working from home. A high proportion of Northcote works remotely at least part of the week, and the kitchen-table laptop setup is the most reliable producer of neck and upper back load seen here.
Renovation. Northcote’s Victorian and Edwardian housing stock means constant maintenance, and a weekend of it precedes a good share of the lower back presentations that arrive on Mondays.
Running. All Nations Park and the creek trail, with the usual load-related knee and heel presentations.
Your first appointment
About 30 minutes, and mostly assessment: a full history, a physical assessment covering posture, movement and muscle and joint testing, an orthopaedic and neurological screen, and an explanation of what was found before any treatment happens.
Three chiropractors practise here, each publishing their AHPRA registration number. An initial consultation is $125 and a standard consultation $78, every fee and item code is on the fees page, and HICAPS is on site so private health rebates are claimed at the desk.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get here from Northcote?
About fifteen minutes by car west along Brunswick Road or Moreland Road. By public transport the 86 tram connects toward the city, with the 19 or 58 running across to Brunswick West, the 58 stops at stop 35, on the corner of Victoria Street.
Is it worth the trip from the other side of Merri Creek?
That is a fair question and the honest answer depends on what you need. What this clinic offers is three chiropractors with different backgrounds, published registration numbers and published fees, and appointments six days a week including weeknights to 7:00pm and Saturday to 4:00pm.
Can I claim on my health fund?
Where your extras policy includes chiropractic, yes. HICAPS is on site so you claim at the desk and pay only the gap. Quote item code 1002 to your fund to find out what your policy pays before you come in.
