Chiropractic care in Melbourne since 1990
Back pain, neck pain, headaches. You'll get a full history, a hands-on assessment and a plain-English explanation of what was found before treatment starts.
What we help with
Chiropractic care at our practice focuses on musculoskeletal concerns involving the spine, joints and muscles. Whether you're experiencing back or neck pain, joint discomfort, stiffness or another musculoskeletal concern, your appointment begins with understanding what's bothering you.
Your chiropractor will take a detailed history, perform a thorough physical assessment, explain their findings clearly, and discuss the options that may be appropriate for you.
That is what the first appointment is for. It is mostly assessment, a history, a physical examination, and a plain explanation of what the chiropractor found before anything else happens. If they think something other than chiropractic would serve you better, they will say so and help you get to the right person.
Why choose us
We believe you should know who is caring for you. Every chiropractor at our practice lists their AHPRA registration number and professional qualifications, so you can independently check their credentials on the national register.
Your care should continue only while it is helping you. Your chiropractor will monitor your progress and let you know when further treatment may no longer be necessary or beneficial.
If chiropractic care isn't helping, we'll tell you honestly and discuss what other options may be worth considering. You should never feel pressured to keep booking appointments.
Before any treatment begins, your chiropractor will explain what they've found, what may be contributing to your symptoms, and what they recommend.
If something isn't clear, please ask. You should feel comfortable understanding what's happening and why before you decide to proceed.
Claim your health fund rebate on the spot and pay only the gap. The terminal shows what your policy pays as the claim goes through.
Monday to Saturday, from 8:45am, with a later close on Wednesday and weekend appointments on Saturday. Confirmation comes through by SMS.
Often available, including for a first visit. Call reception and they will tell you what is open today rather than what is open next week.
Your care should be about you, not just a label or diagnosis. Your chiropractor takes the time to understand what you're experiencing, what matters to you, and what you want to get back to doing.
Your care is then tailored to your individual needs, rather than placing you on a standard treatment plan simply because you have a particular diagnosis.
How it works
01
History, before hands
What hurts, when it started, what makes it worse, what you have already tried, and what you want to get back to doing. The screening questions sit here too, the ones that establish what kind of problem this is before anyone touches you.
02
Physical and postural assessment
Movement testing joint by joint, and where your symptoms warrant it a neurological screen of reflexes, sensation and strength. Testing is what separates a back problem from a nerve problem, and the two are not managed the same way.
03
Your findings, explained clearly
What is going on, what is driving it, and what it is likely to take to settle, in plain language, with time for questions. You leave the room knowing what the problem is and what happens next.
04
Treatment, in most cases on the day
Where the picture is clear, hands-on treatment starts at this visit. Where imaging would settle something first, you are still treated with what is safe in the meantime, soft tissue work, gentle mobilisation, support, and specific advice on sitting, sleeping and pain control.
05
What to do between now and next time
Two or three specific things, chosen from what your assessment showed and short enough that you will actually keep doing them. Movement, plus the load changes that hold it, how long you sit before standing, how you lift, how you sleep.
06
A plan, and the milestones to measure it by
An expected number of visits and a rough timeframe, with the milestones to expect and roughly when. Progress is reviewed at every visit and the plan follows it, so you can see whether it is working and stay in control of it.
An initial consultation is $125, item code 1002: every fee is on the fees page, and HICAPS is on site so you claim at the desk. Reception is on (03) 9388 8237.
The practice
The chiropractors here have different backgrounds, areas of interest and treatment styles, from functional neurology and pregnancy care to sports and performance, manual therapy and more.
All of them are highly trained and experienced in traditional chiropractic techniques, while also incorporating additional treatment approaches where appropriate, such as shockwave therapy, dry needling, cupping and soft-tissue techniques.
You can choose a chiropractor based on what you're looking for, or simply give our friendly reception team a call. They can talk through your needs and help point you towards a practitioner who may be a good fit.

The treatment
Chiropractic is a hands-on approach to assessing and managing problems with the spine, joints, muscles and nervous system. The aim is practical: less pain, better movement, and getting back to what you were doing before.
Treatment is built around your assessment rather than a set protocol. Chiropractors in Australia complete five years of university study, a bachelor's degree followed by a Master of Chiropractic, and are registered with AHPRA. You can book without a referral.

Questions
No. There is no package to sign up to, no set number of visits, and no sales script. Your chiropractor gives you an expected number of appointments and a rough timeframe after the first assessment, progress is reviewed at every visit, and you are told when further treatment is no longer likely to help. Carrying on after that is your choice, not a condition of being seen.
Some people are, for about a day. It feels much like the day after starting a new kind of exercise, and it usually settles on its own. Tell your chiropractor if it does not settle, or if it is more than mild, because the technique and the amount of force used can both be changed next time.
It is gas moving inside the joint, not bones cracking. The term for it is cavitation: the adjustment briefly increases the space inside the joint capsule, gas dissolved in the joint fluid forms a bubble, and the bubble collapsing makes the sound. It is not a measure of whether the adjustment worked. Plenty of effective technique makes no sound at all, and the lower-force methods used here often make none.
Generally not. The chiropractor tells you what they are about to do before they do it, and most techniques are comfortable. Some people notice mild soreness for a day afterwards, much like the day after starting a new kind of exercise. If anything is uncomfortable during a session, say so. The technique can be changed, and lower-force options are used routinely.
Chiropractic is a regulated profession, and every chiropractor here is registered with AHPRA and has been in practice for at least fifteen years. Care starts with an assessment, and hands-on treatment only proceeds where the findings support it. Tell your chiropractor about any medical conditions, medications or previous surgery, that is part of what the screening questions at the start of the first appointment are for.
Not routinely. Imaging is only recommended where it would change what the chiropractor does next, based on what the examination found. Where it is needed, the clinic refers to bulk-billed providers wherever possible, so there is usually nothing to pay. Bring any scans or reports you already have, they save repeating work.
An initial consultation is $125, item code 1002, and a regular consultation is $78, item code 1005. Every fee is published with its item code so you can quote it to your fund and get a real answer. HICAPS is on site, so the claim goes through the terminal at the end of your appointment and you pay only the gap.
No. Chiropractic is a primary-contact profession in Australia, so you can book directly. A referral is only needed where a third party is paying, a Medicare care plan, WorkSafe, the TAC or DVA.
Yes. Care during pregnancy is focused on the back, pelvic and joint discomfort that comes with the changes of pregnancy, using positioning and techniques suited to the stage you are at. Dr Kenneth Taylor is certified in the Webster Technique, and midwives and obstetricians refer to him for it.
Yes, with technique adapted to a child's age and size. Care is limited to musculoskeletal complaints, and where something falls outside that the chiropractor will say so and help you get to the right person.
Both are AHPRA-registered professions managing musculoskeletal problems, and they overlap more than most descriptions of them suggest. Chiropractors tend to work hands-on with spinal and joint function; physiotherapists tend to lead with exercise-based rehabilitation. Neither is better than the other, what decides it is the assessment you get and whether the plan makes sense to you.
