New patients
What to expect on your first visit
- AHPRA-registered chiropractors
- Open six days
- HICAPS on site
- No referral needed
- Book online
Your first appointment takes approximately 30 minutes. Here's exactly what to expect, so you know what's involved before you arrive.
A detailed health history
What happened, when it started, what makes your symptoms better or worse, what you've already tried, and any relevant aspects of your general health.
A thorough physical assessment
Posture, movement, muscle and joint function, together with orthopaedic and neurological screening where clinically appropriate.
A clear explanation
Your chiropractor will explain what they've found, what may be contributing to your symptoms, and what your options are, all in plain, easy-to-understand language.
Treatment, where appropriate
If treatment is clinically appropriate and you're comfortable proceeding, it can begin on the day. You won't be asked to commit to a treatment plan before you understand the findings and your options.

What to bring
To help your appointment run smoothly, please bring:
- Your private health insurance card if you'd like to claim your rebate through HICAPS at the clinic
- Your Medicare card if you're attending under a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan
- Any referral or claim details if your appointment is being covered by WorkSafe, TAC or DVA
- Any relevant imaging or reports you already have, such as X-rays, scans or specialist reports
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. There is generally no need to undress for your assessment or treatment.
What it costs
$125
Initial consultation, item code 1002. HICAPS is on site, so with private health cover you claim at the desk and pay only the gap.
Every fee is on the fees page.
Tell us before you book if…
You are pregnant, have had recent surgery, are managing osteoporosis or a complex health condition, or you are booking for a child. None of these rules anything out. They change which chiropractor suits you and what the assessment covers, and reception will point you accordingly.
Getting here
66 Melville Road, Brunswick West VIC 3055. Route 58 tram from William Street, stop 35.
