Club football and the training that supports it produce a recognisable set of presentations, and Windy Hill and the surrounding grounds generate a steady stream of them.
What club sport produces
Acute injuries. Contact, landing and change-of-direction, most often knee, ankle and shoulder.
Load-related presentations through pre-season and into the season: calf, Achilles and heel, hip and groin, and lower back.
Return-to-play questions, which are what sports chiropractic is really for, not a different technique so much as a plan built backwards from a defined load.
Junior players. Growth spurts change how load is tolerated, and children’s posture and growing pains are common questions from parents at this end of the season.
Where there is obvious deformity, an inability to bear weight, or significant immediate swelling after an impact, that is an emergency department first, the chiropractors screen for it and will say the same thing.

Frequently asked questions
How far is the clinic from Windy Hill?
About ten minutes by car south-east via Mount Alexander Road. The 59 tram runs the same road, and Essendon Station is on the Craigieburn line.
Do you see club footballers?
Regularly, in season and pre-season. Dr Hamilton Mack leads that work. He has worked with AFL footballers, Formula One champions and professional dancers, and is a competitive Ironman triathlete himself.
Should I book before or after a game?
Both work but they are different appointments. After an injury it is assessment first, then a plan for returning to load. Before a game, book early in the week rather than the day before, introducing something new right before you play is a risk rather than a preparation.
Ready to book?
Appointments Monday to Saturday, with confirmation by SMS.
