Getting here from Flemington
About ten minutes by car north via Mount Alexander Road. Tram route 57 runs along Racecourse Road, and Newmarket Station is on the Craigieburn line.
What Flemington patients come in with
Racing industry work. Flemington Racecourse and the surrounding stables mean early starts, physical handling, riding and long hours on uneven ground, producing lower back, shoulder and hip presentations, and a fair number of work-related claims.
Running. The Maribyrnong River trail is close, and load-related knee and heel presentations follow the familiar pattern.
High-density living and desk work. Flemington’s apartment population brings the usual neck and posture load from long seated days, often at a small home workspace.
Your first appointment
About 30 minutes, and mostly assessment: a full history, a physical assessment covering posture, movement and muscle and joint testing, an orthopaedic and neurological screen, and an explanation of what was found before any treatment happens.
Three chiropractors practise here, each publishing their AHPRA registration number. An initial consultation is $125 and a standard consultation $78, every fee and item code is on the fees page, and HICAPS is on site so private health rebates are claimed at the desk.
