Getting here from Travancore

About ten minutes by car north along Mount Alexander Road, which makes this one of the more direct trips of any suburb served here. Tram route 59 runs the same road, and Newmarket Station sits on the Craigieburn line.

What Travancore patients come in with

Travancore is small and largely residential, and the mix reflects that rather than any single industry.

Apartment and unit living, with compact home workspaces producing neck and posture presentations.

Commuting, and the sustained seated load that comes with it. See lower back pain.

Walking and running on the Moonee Ponds Creek trail, with the usual load-related knee and heel presentations.

Racing industry work, given the proximity to Flemington Racecourse, early starts, physical handling, and the lower back and shoulder presentations that follow.

Your first appointment

About 30 minutes, and mostly assessment: a full history, a physical assessment covering posture, movement and muscle and joint testing, an orthopaedic and neurological screen, and an explanation of what was found before any treatment happens.

Three chiropractors practise here, each publishing their AHPRA registration number. An initial consultation is $125 and a standard consultation $78, every fee and item code is on the fees page, and HICAPS is on site so private health rebates are claimed at the desk.
