Coburg Lake Reserve and the Merri Creek trail carry a lot of walking, running and cycling, and the presentations that follow are the familiar load-related ones.
What the reserve and creek trail produce
Walking and running load, knee, hip and heel presentations, usually after a change in distance, surface or footwear.
Cycling load on the Upfield path, sustained neck extension with the shoulders forward, which surfaces as neck pain and headache patterns rather than back pain.
Older patients walking the lake circuit, where care adapted for age and lower-force technique are the appropriate approach.

Frequently asked questions
How far is it from Coburg Lake?
About ten minutes by car west via Bell Street or Moreland Road. Tram route 19 on Sydney Road connects across to the 58 at Brunswick West, which runs along Melville Road to stop 35.
Do you see walkers and runners from the reserve?
Regularly. The lake circuit and the Merri Creek trail carry a lot of walking, running and cycling, and load-related knee, hip and heel presentations from them are a normal part of the caseload.
Do you see older patients?
A good share of appointments. Lower-force technique is used where it is the appropriate choice, and bone density, medication and surgical history all change the approach, which is why the chiropractor asks about them before the assessment rather than after.
