Dr Voula Roumel is a Melbourne chiropractor at Melbourne Chiropractor in Brunswick West. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Chiropractic) and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement) from RMIT University (formerly Phillip Institute of Technology). Dr Roumel is registered with AHPRA (CHI0000942872) and is a member of the Australian Chiropractors Association. She brings over 39 years of clinical experience to her patients — practising continuously since 1987.
A Methodical, Evidence-Informed Approach
Across nearly four decades of practice, Dr Roumel has developed a methodical, evidence-informed approach to chiropractic care. She combines hands-on assessment with clear communication — taking time to understand each patient’s clinical history, examining thoroughly, and explaining findings in plain language so patients understand what’s happening with their body.
Her dual training in Human Movement (1982) and Chiropractic (1987) provides a foundation in biomechanics that informs her clinical reasoning. Patients describe her style as calm, considered, and unhurried — qualities developed across decades of clinical practice.
Nearly Four Decades of Clinical Experience
Dr Roumel has practised continuously since 1987 — more than 39 years of clinical experience. Across that time, she has worked with patients spanning every life stage and clinical presentation: from infants and children, through pregnancy, to elderly patients managing chronic conditions.
This depth of experience matters most in complex or long-standing presentations — where clinical pattern recognition, refined hands-on technique, and clear judgement about what will and won’t help come from years of patient outcomes, not from textbooks.
Clinical Focus Areas
Dr Roumel’s clinical work spans several areas built up across her decades of practice:
– Musculoskeletal care — back pain, neck pain, and chronic spinal conditions
– Women’s health and pregnancy chiropractic
– Family chiropractic — supporting patients across generations
– Postural correction and long-term spinal health
– Chronic pain that hasn’t responded to other approaches
Her approach prioritises long-term outcomes over short-term symptom relief — building care plans that address contributing factors and restore lasting function.
Patient Education and Continuing Practice
In addition to seeing patients, Dr Roumel writes the patient education content for Melbourne Chiropractor. She translates clinical chiropractic concepts into accurate, accessible guidance — drawing directly on more than 30 years of clinical experience to inform what she writes.
She maintains AHPRA-required continuing professional development and stays current with developments in evidence-based chiropractic practice. Her goal is for patients to leave appointments — and articles — understanding their own bodies a little better than when they arrived.
Outside the Clinic
Before chiropractic, Dr Roumel represented Australia in volleyball as a teenager in 1979 — an early grounding in the human body, athletic performance, and movement that shaped her later interest in human movement and clinical chiropractic.
She continues to value the connection between movement, function, and long-term health — both in her clinical work and in how she lives outside the clinic.
